Fuego de Caña cocktail with burnt marshmallow garnish

Flor de Caña is a Fair Trade certified rum who takes pride in labor conditions and economic opportunity for workers. It is also distilled with 100% renewable energy.

Today, I am celebrating the global Fair Trade movement with Flor de Caña with this little Mai Tai riff by pairing it with banana and peanut flavor. The little marshmallow is on fire because Flor de Caña, a rum distillery is at the base of an active volcano in Nicaragua.

Recipe

  • 2 oz peanut washed Flor de Caña 12 years
  • 0.25 oz Banana liqueur
  • 0.75 oz lime juice
  • 0.5 oz orgeat
  • 0.5 Strega liqueur
  • Garnish: ming sprigs, lime, and burnt marshmallow

Both ming and lime are sourced from our local Farmer's Market, a nod to Fuego de Caña's practice on Fair Trade.
