This is my riff on the #wehavethelastword campaign. I call it the First Word Morning Edition.
Recipe
- 1 oz St George Nola coffee liqueur
- 1 oz Remy Martin brandy
- 1 oz Fernet Branca
- 1 oz Graham's tawny port
- 1 egg
Instruction:
- Dry shake everything, strain and pour.
Fernet adds a wonderful bitter and herbacious taste that brings the depth of this drink. St George coffee liqueur is a fantastic product. Unlike Kahlua, it has a very earthy taste and notes of hazelnut, I suspect that there is more caffeine in this than a typical coffee liqueur. I was concerned about the amount of bitterness with fernet and coffee liqueur together, but the port and egg helped balance the cocktail.
